Whew!  Things have been a bit hectic.  But here we go.

Anna suggested negative space, which is perfect.  Sometimes it can be a bit hard to find inspiration in the suburban back yard.  But the tot and I have been spending a lot of time crashed in the new hammock, and the budding trees and blue skies that are our springtime companions are filling my days with happy.  And I just love Anna’s – look how sweetly sneaky he looks.  Perfect.

Me above, Anna below.

Anna is in Vegas this week so she chose shiny for our theme – perfect!  And I treated myself to a solo visit to the Zilker Botanical Gardens.  I had a few different ideas but wound up loving nothing so much as the bright green surrounding me.

Anna on the left, me on the right.

I am loving this – our photos this week are so different, but both of them are the beginning of an adventure.  Marriage and the big kid jungle gym.  Who knew they’d go so well together?

self portrait dipt

Me on the left, Anna on the right.

I had all kinds of creative ideas, but between a sick tot and snow days, none of them really panned out. This is a photo I took when trying to document for my friends the giant gash I got on my forehead when the blinds fell off the window and bashed me in the head. I was a little bit concussed but I could still knit, so I figured I didn’t have to go in. Hmm, turns out the process of coming up with a photo for the week was kind of a self-portrait as well.  At least Anna looks so pretty to balance out Pirate Mom!

Mine above, Anna’s below.  Thanks for playing!

We picked Blur as our theme this week.  I love Anna’s because there are so many stories that could be told about this moment.  And mine, well, mine is from a morning of birdwatching.  I’ve seen this hawk hanging around before and we visit pretty often, but I never have my camera handy.  This time, I had just enough time to grab it and vaguely aim before she flew away.
